The Making Spirits Bright Holiday Drink Contest is a fun community program activity sponsored by Iron Range Youth in Action and the Thunderbird Mall annually. This program activity is a community effort to promote fun alternative nonalcoholic drinks during the holidays. Area youth groups from high schools across the Iron Range and area businesses are given the opportunity to make their own holiday drinks and enter into the contest. Judges taste-test the drinks and the top 3 drinks are awarded prizes. From cold ice-cream drinks to hot apple cider drinks, tables are filled with some wonderful concoctions. The kids have a blast and IRYA puts together some great holiday drink recipes for everyone to enjoy. This year"s contest took place on December 12, 2007 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Thunderbird Mall in Virginia. Our Taste-Test Judges were from the End Underage Drinking Coalition.
