The Northland Foundation is a regional foundation serving the communities of northeastern Minnesota. Unlike the typical concept of a "foundation" --- which is a charitable organization that makes grants to programs from their endowment --- the Northland Foundation is unique.
The Northland Foundation serves our region through: 1) a grantmaking program that provides resources to nonprofit organizations in the region; 2) an operating program, KIDS PLUS, that is dedicated to improving the well-being of children and youth; and 3) a business finance program that provides financing to assist small and medium-size businesses.
Like many nonprofit organizations, the Northland Foundation raises money to support these program areas. Resources for their diverse initiatives are provided through public and private partnerships at the local, state, and national levels.

The Foundation for a Better Life is a non-profit organization dedicated to sharing the values that make a difference in our communities. They create public service campaigns that model the benefits of a life lived by positive values. In turn, they hope to inspire people to make values a part of their own lives, and then to communicate the benefits to others.
