Ely Community and Youth Recreation Center

The Ely Community and Youth Recreation Center Project was put together as a partnership between Iron Range Youth in Action and the Ely Parks and Recreation Committee. The proposed facility would meet the needs of both a community center and a place for youth and families to recreate as it would be the hub of a new Park in Ely.

Homeless Awareness Sleep Out

Iron Range Youth in Action members spent the night in cardboard boxes as part of a national effort to raise public awareness about homelessness. It was cold and wet, but everyone made it through the night.

Make a Difference Youth Leadership Conference

The Make a Difference Conference is an annual event sponsored by Iron Range Youth in Action. Over 500 students from 15 area high schools attend this event to learn how to make a difference in their communities. Each year, we feature a nationally recognized motivational speaker as our keynote speaker. Attendees have their choice of 8 to 10 break-out sessions that they can attend.

Making Spirits Bright Holiday Drink Contest

The Making Spirits Bright Holiday Drink Contest is a fun community program activity sponsored by Iron Range Youth in Action and the Thunderbird Mall annually. This program activity is a community effort to promote fun alternative nonalcoholic drinks during the holidays. Nursing Home Visits

Iron Range Youth in Action promotes youth spending time and participating in activities with senior citizens in the community as a way of bridging the gap between generations and as a way of teaching young people about the history and experiences of those before them.

Quad Cities Variety Show 2010

The Quad Cities Variety Show is an annual fundraiser sponsored by Iron Range Youth in Action. The Show includes over 50 area performers, with acts including solo and group dancers, and a true variety of musicians including string, brass, inspirational, pop, country, and original songs written by the talented young performers themselves.
