What do we DO?

Under the guidance of St. Louis County Program Coordinators and school-based Advisors,

students particapate in a variety of school and community projects that foster leadership,

team-building, and community outreach.

Project planning begins with student involvement and is based on their interests.

On March 22nd YIA Students partnered with the American Lung Association and went to the MN State Capitol to Lobby against tobacco.

Trial - Make a Difference Conference 2018

 

Youth in Action members held the 23rd annual Make a Difference Conference on February 12th, 2018 at Fortune Bay Resort. Over 369 people were in attendance!  Students from Hibbing, Chisholm, Cherry, Duluth East, Duluth Marshall, Ely, Eveleth/Gilbert, Mesabi East, Northwoods, South Ridge, Northeast Range, Mountain Iron/Buhl, Proctor and Virginia High Schools attended the conference.

Trial - 2017 Service Learning Trip by Abby Thompson

"The part I liked most was packing up rice meals for starving people in Haiti. There were a few other groups of volunteers there as well, and together we packed over 29,000 meals! What a great thing to do that takes just a fraction of your time."  Abby Thompson is from Chisholm High School.
